The crime happened Sunday at the store on U.S. Route 13 and Glenwood Avenue.

Smyrna police detectives are investigating an armed robbery that occurred early Sunday morning at the Valero gas station at 313 N. Dupont Blvd. (U.S. Route 13) at Glenwood Avenue.

At 1:53 a.m., officers responded to a report of a robbery which had just occurred. 

Police said a white male suspect armed with a box cutter entered the store and demanded money from the clerk. After obtaining money from the clerk, the suspect fled the business in a southbound direction on foot.

The suspect is described as 5-feet-8-inches to 5-feet-10-inches tall with an average build and brown hair. The man had some facial hair at the time of the incident. He was last seen wearing a dark, hooded sweatshirt with a white logo, blue jeans with a tobacco can imprint on the rear pocket, and sneakers.
