Michael R. Lewis is wanted on numerous charges in Kent and Susses counties.

The Delaware State Police are asking the public’s assistance in finding fugitive Michael R. Lewis, 34, of Lincoln, who may be in Kent or Sussex counties.

Lewis is wanted on charges of burglary, assault, heroin possession, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, said Director of Public Information Sgt. Richard D. Bratz.

On Aug. 31, Lewis and two others were in a car that was stopped on State Route 24 near Warwick Road, Millsboro, Bratz said. Lewis ran away into a wooded area and was not caught, but a search of the car turned up more than 140 bags of heroin, more than 330 empty heroin bags and a supply of marijuana. Police obtained warrants for his arrest, Bratz added.

Lewis is wanted on seven bench warrants in addition to three for violation of probation. Troop 3 also has a warrant for his arrest on burglary charges.

Lewis is a black man, about 5 feet 10 inches tall weighing 170 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
