Few businesses have had the popularity or longevity as Dover's Spence's Bazaar
Local dignitaries, including representatives from Gov. John Carney and Lt. Gov. Bethany Hall-Long, were on hand June 8 to celebrate the 85th anniversary of Spence’s Bazaar in Dover. Originally a farmstead owned by Harry and Emma Spence, the bazaar was founded as an auction business with its first sale being held May 3, 1933. In the five generations since the lot has become known simply as “The Sale.”
