Bayhealth staff recently took up a donation to help local foster children in need.
Bayhealth Information Technology Application Analyst III Amy Byron, being a foster parent, has experienced the unexpectedness that comes with a child being placed in her home. Byron began collecting backpacks and school supplies to support foster children. She’s donated more than 130 filled backpacks were donated for foster children in Delaware.
“At any given time, there are about 600 foster children in Delaware,” said Byron. “It’s an emotional time for children as they’ve been separated from their families and feel out of place in their foster home. Having something as simple as a backpack and school supplies makes a world of difference in making that child comfortable.”
Donations came from information technology team members and spouses of staff and were donated to the organization where Byron fosters. Because more backpacks and supplies were donated, other children in need have benefited from the donations.
