Tyrone S. Bell of Georgetown takes off in ex's car
A Georgetown man was arrested in Rehoboth Thursday night for unlawful imprisonment.
At 6:45 p.m. on Thursday, July 26, Rehoboth Beach police responded to the first block of Olive Avenue, where a female reported her vehicle had been taken. According to her, she had driven to her ex-boyfriend's house to return some property, and while doing so, he jumped into the driver's seat and backed up, striking her and another individual. He then fled the area with a friend of the victim in the front passenger seat and did not stop when the passenger asked him to.
Eventually, the ex-boyfriend, 48-year-old Tyrone S. Bell, returned with the vehicle and the passenger and was taken into custody. No one was injured.
Bell was charged with felony first-degree unlawful imprisonment, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, two counts of offensive touching and disorderly conduct. He was later released on $3,500 unsecured bail.
