Delaware State Police have identified the crash victim as 62-year-old Paul J. Schiller of Felton.
Officers with the Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating a crash that took the life of a Felton-area motorcyclist.
Division spokeswomen Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe said the crash took place at about 12:13 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19 as a DART First State bus was traveling west on Irish Hill Road.
The motorcyclist was headed east on Irish Hill Road approaching the intersection with Lexington Mill Road, Jaffe said. The bus began to turn left onto Lexington Mill Road, directly into the path of the motorcycle, causing the cycle to crash into the front of the bus.
The operator of the motorcycle, a 62-year-old man from Felton, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a helmet, Jaffe added.
The bus driver, a 55-year-old man from Smyrna, was taken to Bayhealth Hospital Kent Campus for treatment of minor injuries. There were no passengers on the bus and the driver was wearing a seat belt.
Irish Hill Road at the intersection of Lexington Mill Road was closed for about four hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.
