Smyrna High School students from the class of Ms. Treherne and Mrs. Morris recently collected 1,001 pairs of gloves, mittens and socks along with scarves and coats in their sixth annual service project, “Warm Their Hands, Warm Your Heart,” thanks to donations from all schools in the district.

This year Mrs. LeBloch’s Random Acts of Kindness Club wrote heartwarming messages such as “You Matter!”, “You Are Loved!”, “Don’t Forget How Amazing You Are!” and “Be Brave, Never Give Up!” – placed in each bag of items.

The students presented their gifts Jan. 9 to Brenda Russillo from the Food Pantry at Asbury United Methodist Church which is distributing the items to people in need.
