Here are some fun First State events to dive into.
1. If you’re slacking on making your New Year’s resolution a reality, you can laugh it off during “The Power Of Laughter: Stand Up Comedy Night.”
The bill will feature headliner Shawn Banks with support from LaTice Klappa and Keith Purnell.
Banks has a reputation for his spot-on impersonations. He’s been buzzing in comedy clubs and theaters across the country. Weighing in at 300 pounds, when you see him it’s obvious the “elephant is in the room.”

2. Folks will get to celebrate the Chinese New Year in a family friendly homage to the Year of the Pig.
The program will feature traditional Chinese art, activities and demonstrations with a special presentation by the Renaissance Chinese Opera Society. The Chinese American Community Center Folk and Lion Dance Troupes and Yo-Yo Club will perform.

3. Themes of prejudice, compassion and the courage to do what’s right are all intertwined in the classic play “To Kill a Mockingbird.”
Set in a sleepy Alabama town during the Great Depression, audiences will soon get see the seemingly peaceful town begin to crack when a young black man is accused of a terrible crime.
