The Lady Eagles stayed undefeated on the season, knocking off Milford 1-0 on Thursday afternoon.

Smyrna and Milford engaged in a pitcher’s duel Thursday afternoon as both the Lady Eagles’ Jessica Anderson and the Lady Bucs’ Megan Fry went the distance.

Anderson stayed undefeated in the circle this season, earning the victory after pitching seven scoreless innings striking out six. Meanwhile, Fry took the loss despite pitching five scoreless innings before allowing a run and going 2-for-3 at the plate.

After five full innings, Smyrna finally broke the scoreless tie on an RBI double in the bottom of the sixth from Sarah Miller knocking in Taylor Capella.

The loss drops Milford to 1-6 on the year. They hope to rebound Friday afternoon when they host Sussex Tech.

Smyrna's off to a perfect 7-0 start and have outscored their opponents 79-3. They’re back in action looking to make it 8-0, Saturday afternoon at Newark.
