The third annual "Running Hot Clayton Fire 5K" includes a run, walk and a free children's mini-race.

The Clayton Fire Company is hosting its third annual “Running Hot Clayton Fire 5K” Saturday, Aug. 11 at 9 a.m., at the fire company, 300 East St., Clayton, just north of Main Street (Route 6).

A free Healthy Kids Run for children 10 and under starts at 8:50 a.m.

Registration is $20 until Aug. 4 and $25 afterwards and on race day. Entry fee is free with $60 in donations to the fire company.

Unique awards will be presented to the for overall male, female and master’s winners and top three male and female runners in age groups from 14 and under through 70 and over. Walk awards will be presented to the top five male and female walkers.

Ribbons will go to all Healthy Kids Run finishers.

Race t-shirts will be presented to all who register. A cool-down spray will be provided on the

course and at the finish line.

Post-race festivities include free beer samples for ages 21 and over, and free food soft drinks for everyone, music, a bounce house for children, a fire truck display and more.
