Suspect in Woodside stabbing death turns himself in, police say
A 46-year-old Dover man stabbed two people, including a 37-year-old man who died from his injuries, early Saturday in Woodside, according to Delaware State Police.
James Palmer used a large knife to stab the man and a 34-year-old woman outside a residential party on Millchop Lane around 3:25 a.m. Saturday, police said. The man was pronounced dead at the hospital, and the woman was treated for stab wounds to the abdomen, police said.
An argument among the three started at the party, which was located in a trailer behind a residence, police said. They left the party and went into the residence, where the conflict continued. Palmer then stabbed the two and left the scene, police said.
Hours after police issued notice they were searching for Palmer in connection to the death, he turned himself in, police said.
Palmer was charged with first-degree murder, first-degree attempted murder and two counts of possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony.
He was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $1,120,000 cash bond.
